AxD is an emerging collaborative and dynamic studio based in New York. We are proud to be MWBE/DBE certified with a broad range of experience and bring a unique insight as designers, architects and users to each project.

We work alongside internationally recognized architectural firms in aviation, transportation and infrastructure projects in creating lasting, positive environments. While our primary background is in infrastructure projects, we bring experiences in a multitude of different projects from civic, education and housing. Ximena Norena launched her firm after 16 years of experience in design, construction, and project supervision across both the public and private sectors. She is passionate about architecture’s potential to positively impact the built environment and has led complex projects worldwide under demanding schedules and conditions.

Gonzalo is an architect with over 9 years of experience delivering mid- to large-scale cultural, educational, infrastructure, and office projects across Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East. He specializes in guiding projects from concept to completion, with expertise in technical design, construction detailing, coordination, and BIM.

Gonzalo Alvarez

Aura is an architect with over 12 years of experience leading residential and commercial projects from concept through construction, with a focus on New York City’s affordable housing and public agency work. She brings deep knowledge of zoning, code compliance, and multi-unit housing rehabilitation, paired with a collaborative and community-focused approach.

Aura Mesa

Lynn has a background is Business Administration. She is our Office Manager who works closely with our design team providing administrative support and helps keep AxD on track. She is organized, dependable and very enthusiastic about the work we do here at AxD.
